____A list of thirty songs by thirty artists, ranging–like the smaller lists–from the noisy (Trailer Trash Tracys, Micachu, Circulatory System); to the dreamwave-y (Washed Out, Neon Indian, Memory Cassette); to the bedroom-y (Atlas Sound, Bibio, Here We Go Magic); to the movers-and-shakers (Animal Collective, Grizzly Bear, Dirty Projectors, Dan Deacon, Phoenix). There is no narrative thread, nor a dynamic-arc, nor are the tracks arranged with any bias suggesting hierarchy–it is merely sequenced so that it seems natural to both the conscious and unconscious listening ear. Normally, I point to a few tracks that shine particularly bright, but every track here glares in my ears. Take twelve months’ time, add flourishing creativity, and we’re left with these–golden dots weaving together another year. Please enjoy–I hope everyone’s year was wonderful.
